Join the Valley View Area Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber provides its members with grassroots activities, the latest area news and information that is vital to your business. New members receive a membership sticker decal to display in their business or windshield, allowing employees and customers alike to see that you are an industry leader, trustworthy, and involved in your community.
Networking - Connect with other small to large businesses in the area. Membership sends referrals to your business in response to inquiries for goods and services.
Ribbon Cuttings/Grand Openings - As a new member, the Chamber will organize a ribbon cutting including publicity about the event. Your business/organization will also be featured in our local newspapers, Gainesville Daily Register and Cooke County Weekly News. These services are designed to show the Chamber’s support and bring attention to new businesses and new members.
Annual Banquet and Awards Dinner – The Chamber hosts an annual membership meeting and banquet to highlight our activities for the year and award outstanding individuals for community involvement. It’s our biggest event of the year and is open to members and non-members.
Directory Listing – Included in your membership is a categorized listing of your business on the Chamber website, social media, and electronic printable directory including a brief description of your business activities, hours of operation and a link to your website.
Increase your exposure – Opportunities for added exposure through advertising on our website scrolling billboard is only $50 per month per ad, one ad per business. A maximum of ten (10) scrolling ads per monthly cycle are available, it is on a first come basis. Ads are scheduled month to month. For members only.
Community Corkboard - is a monthly announcement of all events, coordinated with the City of Valley View and managed through the Chamber of Commerce. This service is free to all members.
Membership, Ribbon Cuttings, and Welcome Committee (Co-Chair: Treasurer and VP)
Duties include membership drives, organizing Ribbon Cuttings for new Members, ordering Chamber decals for businesses, works closely with Photography and Publicity Committee.
Membership Drive: The Treasurer shall mail Membership forms by the 1st week of December of each year with the membership drive ended by end of February. All forms should be returned to the Chamber PO Box as stated on the Membership form. The committee is responsible for follow up on forms not returned. No membership will be processed until payment is received. This committee may bring recommendations to the Board of Directors for membership drives as needed. A Membership Spreadsheet is kept up to date by year. This committee shall be responsible for welcoming all new members to the chamber.
Ribbon Cuttings: Coordinates date and time for new member ribbon cuttings. They shall notify the Photography and Publicity Committee Chair to coordinate event. This committee will provide the ribbon, scissors, and provide the Chamber sign.
Welcome Wagon: This committee reaches out to new businesses and welcomes new members introducing them at the next members meeting making sure they are aware of all the Chamber functions and that they feel welcomed.
Website/Social Media (Laura McMullen/Sue Carr)
Gathers data for posting to and updating our website, Facebook page, and other social media, works closely with Photography and Publicity Committee and the Calendar Committee.
Scholarship Award Program (Chair: Anita Thayer)
This committee will be responsible for placing application forms for seniors at the Valley View and Era High Schools to distribute applications to seniors who would like to be considered for a Chamber Scholarship. There will be two scholarships awarded. These forms should be distributed in the second week of April with a return date of April 30th. This committee collects the completed applications, reviews all applications, and chooses two recipients. This committee will be made up of minimum 2 chamber members. These awards will be presented at the end of the school year Awards Assembly.
